The Advantages of Medical Travel to the Philippines: Great Shopping Destination

The Philippines offers many great and affordable shopping opportunities that tourists can enjoy, depending on what they are looking for. Major shopping areas such as Makati, Ortigas, Cubao and the SM City/ Trinoma area have large air-conditioned department stores and malls with many of the foreign name brand stores as well as local brands. Greenhills shopping center is best known for its "tiangge", with small shops where customers can haggle for a bargain.

The Philippines has a wide variety of handicrafts that make great souvenirs or mementos. Popular handicrafts include the famous barong tagalog (embroidered shirts for men in jusi or pina material), lamps made with capiz shells, woodcarvings, painted papier-maché, south-sea pearls, baskets, jewelry, woven grass mats (banig), abaca hats, coasters, chimes, bamboo trays, embroidered placemats and table runners.

For the more adventurous shopper, the "Ilalim ng Tulay" (Under the Bridge) market is an interesting place to visit for handicrafts and Divisoria offers bargains of all kinds.
